Ear Infections and Earaches
Ear infections are common in young children. In fact, three out of four children will have at least one ear
infection before their third birthday. Adults can also get ear infections, but they are less common.
Symptoms:
Children who are old enough to talk typically will let you know when they have ear pain. With younger
children, call your healthcare provider or come to Saratoga Hospital Urgent Care–Wilton if you notice
the following:
- Tugging at ears.
- Crying more than usual.
- Fluid draining from the ear.
- Trouble sleeping.
- Balance difficulties.
- Hearing problems.
Remember: For serious and life-threatening injuries or illnesses, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
